Our season began in January with 8 very motivated 7th and 8th graders! Our first tournament was up in Spokane, and the girls had us worried that it was going to be a rough season...I think that they were just testing us as coaches! Every tournament after that, they made it to the championship game, taking either first or second! They grew so much as individuals, and as a team! Their last tournament was Best in the West, up in Spokane, again...They went undefeated all day, with all games being very intense and close, but pulling it off in the end! When the championship game came around, we found out that we were playing the team that had given us the hardest time...after pulling off a win in the first game, they struggled in the second....but determined to win they battled as hard as they could in the third game and in the end they lost 15-13! We were so proud of our girls for not giving up and leaving their hearts on the court...they took 2nd out of 48 teams, which in our eyes wasn't bad at all...especially looking back at the very first tournament...
